From bloated library
to optimized collection

Four steps. No technical knowledge required. Everything happens on your computer.

01

Point & Scan

Select any folder. CineCinch recursively walks every subfolder and probes each video file using FFprobe — returning size, duration, and bitrate density.

02

See the Ratings

Every file gets rated Efficient, Average, or Bloated based on its MB/sec score. Bloated files appear at the top — ready to act on first.

03

Filter & Queue

Search by name, filter by rating, uncheck files to skip, reorder priorities with arrow keys. You control exactly what gets compressed and in what order.

04

Batch Compress

CineCinch works through your queue with H.265 re-encoding. Live progress, per-file space savings, and a running total give you full visibility throughout.

Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.

Lightning-Fast Library Scanning

Scan entire folder trees in minutes. Real-time results populate the table as each file is probed — you can start reviewing results before the scan finishes.

🎯

Intelligent Efficiency Rating

Files are automatically categorized as Efficient, Average, or Bloated using a calibrated MB/sec metric. Three threshold presets — Strict, Medium, Generous — match 720p, 1080p, and 4K libraries respectively.

📦

Smart Batch Compression

Queue files, reorder priorities, and compress in sequence. Live per-file progress percentages and a cumulative "space saved" counter keep you informed throughout.

🔍

Search & Category Filtering

Search across all columns in real time. Show or hide Efficient, Average, Bloated, and Error rows independently. Filters stay active during compression runs.

⏸️

Graceful Queue Control

Stop after the current file finishes, cancel immediately, or reorder pending files mid-run. Completed rows lock in place; pending rows stay fully manageable.

📊

CSV Export

Export your full scan results to a spreadsheet-ready CSV for archive management, reporting, or tracking compression progress over time.

🎵

Multi-Track Audio & Subtitle Support

Optionally preserve all audio streams (multi-language, commentary) and text-based subtitle tracks. Image-based subtitles are detected and handled gracefully.

💾

Flexible Output Options

Save compressed files alongside originals or to a separate folder. Optionally delete originals automatically after verified compression.

🔄

Resumable Runs & Persistent Settings

Already-compressed rows are skipped on re-run — interrupted batches resume automatically. All settings are saved and restored between sessions.

Four presets.
You choose the balance.

All modes output H.265 HEVC in MP4 for maximum device compatibility. Choose the balance of quality vs. size that fits your use case.

Archival

High Quality

CRF 21 · Slower preset

Best visual fidelity. Ideal for archival masters or source files you want to preserve with minimal perceptible quality loss.

Recommended

Standard

CRF 25 · Slow preset

The sweet spot for most libraries. Excellent quality-to-size ratio for everyday home video, recordings, and general media.

Storage

High Compression

CRF 29 · Medium preset

Noticeably smaller files with good quality. Ideal for streaming libraries, NAS devices, or storage-constrained environments.

Maximum

Max Compression

CRF 34 · Fast preset

Smallest possible output. Quality reduction may be visible on detailed or fast-motion content. Best for cold archive storage.

Common questions.

Is CineCinch safe? Does it upload my videos anywhere?

CineCinch is 100% local. Your videos never leave your computer. All scanning and compression is performed entirely on your machine using a bundled copy of FFmpeg — no internet connection is required after installation.

What video formats does CineCinch support?

CineCinch supports 18 formats: MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, WMV, FLV, M4V, MPEG, MPG, WebM, VOB, M2TS, MTS, TS, ASF, OGV, F4V, and 3GP. Each format can be individually enabled or disabled in the scan settings.

What format does CineCinch output?

All compressed files are output as H.265 (HEVC) encoded MP4 files using the yuv420p pixel format — widely compatible with modern devices, TVs, phones, and media players. The output filename is the original name with _compressed appended.

Will compression reduce my video quality?

CineCinch uses carefully tuned CRF values for each mode. At Standard quality, loss is minimal and often imperceptible. High Quality mode prioritizes fidelity above all. Note that files already encoded very efficiently may see little or no file size reduction.

What does the efficiency rating actually measure?

The rating is based on MB/sec — file size divided by duration. This is a proxy for bitrate density that works independently of resolution or codec. Three threshold presets (Strict, Medium, Generous) are calibrated for 720p, 1080p, and 4K libraries respectively.

Can I try CineCinch before buying?

Yes — CineCinch offers a free 7-day trial through the Microsoft Store with no credit card required. The trial includes all four compression modes and all core features, with scan results limited to 10 files per scan and CSV export disabled.
